This is already boring. 20 shots for each points?

Serena should have played first. Can't believe I have to wait for this push fest to be over.
10 minutes for 1 game????

I see no pushing... it is not because a rally has more than 4 exchanges, that is it a pushing contest :-)

Thanks Halep. Well done.
With the first 2 games taking 20 minutes, I thought this was gonna be a 3 hours push fest.
Still regret not selecting Halep for the Skan. I should trust my girl.

You got to give those women time to get used to the match.

Once it was going, it went fast... Simona hitting so many winners.

I know one thing: if Halep manages to make Serena run like she made Svitolina run, then Serena will be in trouble. Svitolina was moving way better than Serena vs Riske. And Riske pushed her to the brink.

I expect a great final!

Serena will have to "push" against Halep for Halep to be able to move her around.
If Serena serves big and returns big, she doesn't have to be excellent off the ground. A mediocre ground game would be enough.
If her serve is MIA and return is mediocre, that's when she would need an excellent ground game.
I think she will serve and return well.
Not sure about the ground strokes. Not counting on them.

I admit: I only saw the second set :-)... so I did not know that the first set started so slow until Kim commented on it at the end of the match :-)

So you can understand my surprise that you said that this was a pushing match :-).

As for Serena: she was serving big and returning big vs Riske, and barely won... and Halep is a better server and better returner...
I know that we are a bit premature with Serena in the final, but Strycova should not be a problem. If Mertens had not gotten ill at 5-2 (one game away from the win), Strycova would not have been here. And Konta had a complete meltdown too, so Serena faces someone that should have lost 2 rounds earlier...

Halep is not as good on grass as Riske. She can't do what Riske was doing.

Unseeded Barbora Strycova says she will have no fear when she bids to halt Serena Williams' charge towards an 11th Wimbledon singles final on Thursday.

The Czech, at 33 the oldest first-time Grand Slam women's semi-finalist, takes on the seven-time champion after Simona Halep plays Elina Svitolina.

"Of course, I don't have as much power as Serena, but I have other weapons," said Strycova, who beat Briton Johanna Konta in the quarter-finals.

"I have really nothing to lose."

Among Strycova's arsenal is an effective serve-and-volley game, honed in a way that will be familiar to many who loved the tennis of previous generations of players.

"I was playing at home against the wall, against the house, so I was kind of like playing with it," she said.

"I love to play volleys, especially on grass. It's working very well. When I'm confident, I like to play a lot of balls from the net. It's my territory."
