Day 7...Monday....Wimby

Post by rex » Jul Sat 08, 2017 7:58 pm

http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/scores/s ... index.html

Excellent slate for Monday beginning the 2nd week.

However, 2 matches I want to see conflict, namely Ostapenko v Svitolina and Petra M's match with Ribby. Both start at 5:30 a.m. in the States, unfortunately, but these matches I wanted to witness in toto......smh.

Then, Venus and Ana K. at 7 a.m. here in the States.

Other good matchups:

Vika and Simona
Angie v Garbine M.
Aggie v Svetlana

Men:

Roger v Dimitrov
Alex Z v Milos R.
Thiem v the Bird Man
Cilic v Agut

There are other matches in play Woz' and such. However, I have no interest in them, but others may. Whatever floats one's boat....

My favorite tennis day of the year!!

WOOHOO :)

I'll be at work, so I doubt I'll get much done, LOL!!

BTW, they finally put Queen Vee on Centre Court!!

Very nice lineup for tomorrow. I'm surprised Venus received a centre court assignment over some of the more compelling match-ups. Interesting.

I'm most interested in Vika vs Halep, Ostapenko vs Svitolina, Kerber vs Garbine, Alex vs Milos, and Muller vs Nadal. Definitely one of the best days in tennis for sure.

Ostapenko 6-3 5-2 up... looks like a done deal (even got MPs) .... then Jelena lovernig her level a bit, and Svitolina playing her best.... and all of a sudden it is Svitolina serving for the set 6-3 5-6*

#8 was the good one... 6-3 7-6 Ostapenko...

Into Wimbledon QF... backing up the RG slam big time.

Yep. She's still in her zone or bubble, not sure which.

Yep. The last score was 5-3 Vee with serve but it's vanished. I thought maybe a retirement?

Konjuh has one of the most pathetic returns....

Venus is serving really well, but I know many players who - at least - can start a rally off the first/second serve coming from Venus.

Konjuh just does... nothing.... can't deal with it... seems clueless.

All the more respect for Elise Mertens who was able to give us a real match vs Venus.
