The new Tree, Opelka, just ousted Stan. He's 6'11", the tallest ever ATP player. His poor knees.

Putintseva is out.
Osaka is crying. Please give her a call to calm her down.

She's going through the same think as Zverev with previous agent/manager. Lawsuits.

Coach, not agent.

Naomi Osaka's attorneys have asked for a former coach's lawsuit to be dismissed by a Florida court.

Florida-based Christophe Jean, who coached Naomi and her sister, Mari Osaka, as teenagers, recently filed a suit alleging that, in 2012, their father had agreed to give Jean 20 percent of the sisters' future earnings in return for free coaching.

A filing this week by Osaka's attorneys in the Florida courts, obtained by TENNIS.com, rejects the complaint. It argues that the agreement was invalid because the sisters were under 18 at the time, and also cites legal flaws in the wording of the contract.

It also asks the court not to recognize the coach's claims on alternative grounds, arguing that neither the agreement or the relationship between the parties establishes that there was a specific financial arrangement.

The Sun-Sentinel detailed the Osakas' relationship with Jean, saying he trained the sisters for two years before they left with no word. The story also has accounts from other coaches, indicating that financial constraints meant the family frequently had problems paying for lessons, but the sisters' talents led to them often being given free or almost free coaching.

Naomi Osaka has had a steep rise to prominence since winning the 2018 US Open, following up her maiden Grand Slam title with a victory at the Australian Open and reaching No. 1 in the rankings.

Osaka declined to comment on the suit when it became public during Miami. "I'm not allowed to say anything," she said.

The 21-year-old has earned more than $10 million in prize money and several million more from sponsorships, and just announced a new partnership with Nike. She is next scheduled to compete at Stuttgart.

Give the dude 1 million and let's move on. Naomi will make at least 100 millions.
You don't need long court hearing. Just get together and give him a check. I am sure he'll even take $300,000 if you drive it well. Too many lawyers.

Like Venus in her prime, Cori's court coverage is very good. Nice get on the dropper by Ribby that she got to and nailed that cross-cutter. Competing nicely thus far....

If Osaka family had an agreement with the coach - surely it should be upheld in some way -

Good win for this young'n. Took away the slice and drop game of Ribby and handled her ground game from the baseline. I knew erehand watching her court coverage against Venus that she would handle the slice and drop game of Ribby, making it a winnable match. Surprised, tho', at Ribby's lst serve. Don't remember it being so potent. Nevertheless, Cori's own game is well-disciplined, unusual for today's women's players that have one groaning at all the reckless miscues for the most part. Refreshing to see for a change. Nice win.

She gets Pelona Hercog next, who dismissed Keys today. Don't know about this competition. However, if Cori can attack the backhand of Pelona's, which is mostly sliced, then she can maybe prevail here, for Pelona's forehand is lethal and her serve is better than average. Tactically, if her coach (whomever he/she is) can tell Cori to go after that backhand persistently, she's got a chance. Yet, Cori can hold serve, even tho' her serve doesn't give you a lot of aces. It dictates enough to enable her to press her ground game, tho' loopy at times due to her being only 15. Iffy match-up for her in the 3rd rd, but she's shown enough to have a nice moment at Wimby, nevertheless, in addition to her performance solidifying a maindraw WC at the USO.
